This last weekend our members went to CKI’s NY Speaking and bonded over scavenger hunts, jeopardy games, leadership workshops, good food and good company. We met a lot of service-oriented college students just like us from all around NY and had so much fun!
Last Friday on October 27th, we had our biggest event of the fall semester–Haunted House! We raised over $800 making it a huge success. A huge shout out and thanks goes to APO, Fiji, and TBP for setting up and acting! We really appreciate all the work put into it, the people who helped out, and those who came out to the event!
On Saturday, a group of us went to Joseph’s House, a homeless shelter in downtown Troy. We made ham and pea soup with garlic bread and teamed up with RPI’s Medical Brigade for the first time to serve the Troy community. Here are some lovely pictures from the event
Two weeks ago, Circle K members from across the district came together to clean up and prepare Kamp Kiwanis for winter. Kamp Kiwanis is a summer camp for underprivileged and disabled children that normally would never have the camp experience. Shout out to our members–Letian Zhang, Zachary Stanke, Jillian Kasun, and Matthew Levine–who went and represented RPI as hardworking and willing to do the dirty work by cleaning dumpsters, roofs, and the kitchen but also having fun with the DLSSP Fashion Show and other activities.
Last weekend on Sunday, a bunch of us went to the local Freer Park to clean-up the trails. We all had a lot of fun bonding over the nice weather and hiking through the trail. LOVING the enthusiasm and can’t wait for more events with everyone. Here are some pictures from Freer Park:
To kick off the new semester, this last week on Monday, we had served ice cream and played various games. We received new members and had old members joining in. If you enjoy helping people and want to make the community a better place and have fun at the same time, come to our first meeting which will have even more ice cream!!
